Job Summary
Conduct building walk-throughs, room inspections, and inventories while managing work order reporting and storage audits. Assist with move-in and move-out transitions, including lifting items up to 50 lbs, constructing furniture, and providing custodial support like sweep outs and wipe downs. Identify and document maintenance, health, and safety concerns; escort vendors; and support fire drills and drug sweeps. Maintain supply of forms and signage, communicate facility updates via various media, and facilitate programming initiatives. Participate in weekly staff meetings and complete required training in Mental Health First Aid, Blood-Borne Pathogens, Ladder Safety, and Golf Cart Operation. Work an average of 12 hours weekly during the 2026-2027 academic year.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative/semester GPA of 2.5
- Good academic standing
- No open sanctions
- Successful completion of a criminal background check after hire
- Physical ability to safely lift and move equipment up to 35 lbs.
- Physical and Environmental Factors: This position requires crouching, kneeling/crawling, stooping, twisting/pivoting, reaching overhead, grasping/handling, pushing/pulling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs., repetitive motions, and driving to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise, vibrations, and proximity hazards and rare exposure to respiratory factors, chemicals, wet or humid conditions indoors, extreme cold, extreme heat, and heights or cramped ...
- Full Participation in Staff Training. Training requirements will be provided either upon hire or at a minimum of 60 days before the dates of training. If the 60 days are not met. Residence Life will prioritize your previous commitment.
- Available to assist with housing transitions at the beginning and end of the summer term
- Assist with all other housing transitions, including Fall, Interim, and Spring move-ins and closings
- Adherence to any blackout dates provided by professional staff to ensure adequate staffing during high-need periods
- Demonstrated emotional maturity to cope with the day-to-day challenges of employment
- Sensitivity and concern for others as individuals that goes beyond outlined responsibilities
- Strong interest in learning facility operations and building logistics
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly evolving situations
