Job Summary
Design and implement secure Data Lake solutions within the AWS environment, including IaaS development using Terraform, Python, or Java to create services and resources. Explore new AWS Data Management features and apply SDLC tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development, to improve code quality and delivery speed. Proactively identify hidden data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture while gathering insights from large datasets for continuous application improvement. Collaborate with various teams to execute software solutions, design, and technical troubleshooting, contributing to engineering communities of practice. Requires 5+ years of applied experience with AWS services like Glue, EMR, Athena, and Redshift, proficiency in Python and Java, and demonstrated leadership in AI-assisted engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience in AWS, especially in Data Management arena such as Glue, EMR, Athena, Redshift, and Lake Formation
- Proficient in Python, Java, and database query languages for applications development, debugging, and maintenance in a large corporate environment
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
- Overall solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on Terraform or other IaaS experience
- AWS certification on Solutions Architect Associate / Developer level
- Other advanced level certification on programming languages
- Knowledge working with PCI and sensitive data workloads
