Job Summary
Design geospatial database solutions ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity using AWS services like RDS, DynamoDB, and Lambda. Develop and deploy production-ready systems from concept to operations, leveraging Infrastructure as Code with CDK or Terraform. Build ETL/ELT pipelines and optimize spatial database schemas, indexing strategies, and complex queries at scale. Collaborate with clients to overcome difficult challenges using cloud-native architecture patterns while maintaining security compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software with a cloud-first development approach
- 4+ years of experience with enterprise data engineering development, including geospatial data
- 3+ years of experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM policies, security groups, and network security
- 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code, including AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
- Experience working with ETL/ELT pipeline development using AWS services
- Experience with data lakes, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
- Experience developing and deploying production geospatial solutions from concept to O&M
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- willingness to take a polygraph exam
- Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation
- Experience with database administration and optimization, including PostgreSQL or Aurora Postgres with geospatial workloads
- Experience designing and optimizing spatial database schemas, spatial indexing strategies, and complex geospatial queries at scale
- Experience leading technical initiatives in large-scale environments
- Experience with system design, including scalability and reliability
- Experience developing dashboards and monitoring systems to track streaming services
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- AWS Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer
- IAT Level II+ Certification such as Security+ or CISSP
