Job Summary
Build, support, and optimise cloud-native data platform solutions within AWS, developing infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and maintaining CI/CD pipelines via GitLab. Support data engineering workloads using Python, Apache Spark, Airflow, and Jupyter notebooks while deploying containerised solutions with Docker. Implement security controls, scanning agents, and secure engineering practices to uphold standards in a highly regulated government environment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and integration teams to deliver scalable, automated data platform solutions. This 6-month contract offers a day rate of £400–450 and requires active SC clearance; no visa sponsorship is available.
Required Qualifications
- Active SC clearance
- Strong AWS engineering experience across cloud-native services
- Commercial experience with Terraform and infrastructure automation
- Strong Python development skills
- Experience with Apache Spark and large-scale data processing
- Experience with Apache Airflow workflows and orchestration
- Experience working with Jupyter notebooks
- Docker and containerisation experience
- Experience using GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of secure engineering practices and security tooling/scanning
- Experience working within complex enterprise or government environments
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
