Job Summary
AWS Cloud ETL Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines in a cloud-native environment. The role is 100% onsite and full-time, based in Washington, DC. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EMR); building and managing data workflows with orchestration tools; implementing data transformations with Python, PySpark, or SQL; designing storage solutions with S3, Redshift, RDS, or DynamoDB; ensuring data quality, integrity, and governance through validation, monitoring, and logging; optimizing performance and cost-efficiency of AWS data workloads; collaborating with DevOps to implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (AWS CDK Python); maintaining documentation and enforcing best practices for data architecture and security; and troubleshooting production data issues.
Required Qualifications
- Active Security Clearance
- Experience in data engineering or ETL development
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (Glue, S3, Lambda, EMR, IAM)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and IAM best practices
