Job Summary
Provide Tier 2 administration, troubleshooting, and general support for Windows Server 2022, Windows 10/11, and RHEL 8/9 environments within cloud settings. Architect, deploy, and maintain robust AWS cloud environments using Kion for governance while developing automation scripts with SaltStack to streamline provisioning and configuration. Monitor system performance, availability, and security, responding to incidents and performing root cause analysis while collaborating with development teams to ensure CI/CD pipeline stability. Maintain current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and possess IAT II certification. This role supports the Enterprise Infrastructure Services organization for a global defense workforce, requiring physical mobility to deliver workstations to customer desks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management or related professional engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
- 20 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity
- Must hold an IAT II certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)8/9 and Windows Server 2022/2025 environments
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or Cloud Engineer with practical knowledge of cloud environments
- Demonstrated understanding of the IAVM process and experience working directly with ISSOs / Security to coordinate infrastructure security findings
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
- The candidate must be able to move, carry and deliver workstations from inside the office to customer's desk
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in enterprise or government environments
- Familiarity with cloud security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, ICD 503)
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for infrastructure deployment, management, and troubleshooting
- Experience building automated patching and infrastructure deployment workflows using SaltStack
- Familiarity or foundational understanding of ecosystem applications and tools such as Apache NiFi, Jira, Confluence, SafeNet HSMs, Certificate Authority (CA) management, and GitLab
- Willingness to learn about environment-specific platforms; on-site training will be provided for specific specialized tools and internal methodologies (e.g., Kion, SaltStack, and program workflows)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in an agile, fast-paced team environment
