Job Summary
Maintain and optimize the existing AWS environment, including virtual machines, storage, and key management systems. Implement cloud architecture solutions for new systems and applications while monitoring performance, resource utilization, and load to ensure cost-effective and reliable operations. Proactively resolve security and readiness issues, ensuring compliance with IT security directives, NIST SP 800-53, and federal regulations. Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD systems using Kubernetes, Docker, and Jenkins, overseeing encryption and key rotation via AWS KMS. Maintain up-to-date infrastructure documentation and provide technical guidance on cloud best practices. This full-time, remote role requires a U.S. citizen or legal resident with five or more years of AWS experience, including proficiency in EC2, S3, RDS, and Terraform, and must pass a federal background check.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar role managing AWS environments
- Proven expertise in designing and managing large-scale, cloud-based systems
- Advanced knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and KMS
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform
- Strong understanding of IT security principles, including encryption, patching, and incident response
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with at least three years of continuous residency in the United States
- Ability to pass a federal background check
