Job Summary
Assist individuals with medication dispensing, personal care including toileting and bathing, and grooming while ensuring their safety during sleep. Implement goals from individual plans, make sound decisions in routine and crisis situations, and respond appropriately to emergencies. Communicate effectively to build rapport, discuss incidents with staff, and maintain accurate, confidential documentation. Accomplish assigned tasks, participate in program evaluations, and demonstrate role model behavior while respecting cultural and disability needs.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- valid driving license
- good driving record with no more than 2 points on the license
- reliable vehicle to be used in transporting individuals we serve
- demonstrated ability to read and write clearly and concisely
- proficiency in computer-based software, e.g., excel, word
- dependable, responsible, consistent and punctual
- flexible and take direction
- ability and desire to create long-term, trusting and respectful relationships
- pass criminal background check mandated by the State of Maryland
- valid driving license with good driving record
- occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Required to work evenings and weekend, when scheduled
