Job Summary
Create and maintain a culture of safety and welcome for Safe Haven residents, fostering mutual respect and collaboration while gradually encouraging their participation in self-defined goals for income, housing, and health. Develop trusting relationships to engage residents in person-centered Individualized Action Plans, offer but do not require support for treatment services, and provide skills training. Assess physical and emotional status, report changes to the Program Director, and refer residents to community-based services for mental health, substance use, healthcare, and job training. Provide transportation as necessary, manage medication storage and administration, and assist with household tasks including cooking, cleaning, and maintenance. Maintain required records, participate in all mandated training and staff meetings, and provide physical intervention or first aid during medical emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid US driver's license
- Valid driver's license maintained for at least six months
- Adequate insurance for personal vehicle (if applicable)
- Safe driving record
- Ability to pass a driver's screening background check
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment such as a calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to sit, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways
- Ability to assist clients with tasks of daily living
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time as needed
- Ability to bend, reach, file, sit, stand, and move around the facility
- Ability to speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives

- CPR certification within two weeks of hire
