Job Summary
Direct Support Professional for awake overnight shifts provides support and skills training to people with developmental, physical, and psychiatric disabilities in residential and community settings. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, facilitating independence, documenting progress per DDS/DMH/MassHealth/HUD/DPH/CARF standards, transporting individuals to medical, recreational and other activities, maintaining required documentation, and administering medications per MAP regulations. The role requires maintaining certifications (FA/CPR, PABC, MAP), strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive a 12-passenger van. The position emphasizes safety, relationship-building with guardians and stakeholders, and adherence to Bridgewell policies. Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including assisting with transfers and mobility, and participate in required trainings; scheduling includes overnight hours (11:00pm-9:00am, 40 hours). Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or at least 5+ years of verified experience in the same position
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred
- Ability to drive a large and/or wheelchair van with a valid US driver's license and at least one year of driving experience in the United States
- MAP (Medication Administration) regulations compliance for administering medications
- Maintaining mandatory certifications such as FA/CPR, PABC and MAP
