Job Summary
Direct and manage the commercial loan, business deposit, and cash management functions of the Spokane team under the VP of Commercial Banking Eastern Region. Coordinate business development activities, oversee a group of lenders and small business development officers, and make exposure decisions according to MBL Policies and underwriting guidelines. Control commercial loan delinquencies and charge-offs while ensuring safety and soundness through portfolio management. Maintain a highly qualified staff by interviewing, selecting, training, and supervising team members to provide responsive service. Prepare credit requests for the Loan Committee, monitor MBL loans, and establish production goals with regular reporting to senior management. Provide recommendations for policy changes and process improvements while ensuring compliance with all lending laws and regulations. Participate in community activities and business development events to enhance loan relationships and support the credit union's strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years of commercial lending or commercial leadership experience
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years professional sales ability
- Minimum three (3) years managerial/supervisory position within a financial organization
- Five (5) years of experience underwriting commercial loans including commercial real estate loans, agriculture, commercial and industry, and SBA
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of specialized courses in business related training or experience

- Experience analyzing local and national economic data to assist setting marketing and pricing strategies
- Familiarity with SBA loan programs and underwriting requirements
- Proficiency with standard office equipment, Excel, MS Word, Outlook, computer software, lending software, and department specific programs
