Job Summary
AVP Maintenance of Way at DART oversees the programs, resources, and activities of personnel responsible for LRT/streetcar wayside maintenance, signals, traction electrification, track/right-of-way, and multi-modal passenger facilities. Leads budgeting, policy execution, safety and quality assurance, and coordination with Rail Transportation to schedule track outages. Acts as a liaison with other divisions and external contacts; directs interviews, hiring, development, and evaluation of staff; integrates new technologies into infrastructure projects; collaborates with engineering and contractors to resolve maintenance problems; and ensures compliance with safety regulations while guiding program expansion and training initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least six years of rail maintenance leadership experience; strong communication, team-building, and vendor/contractor management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electronics, Construction, Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Six (6) years’ experience in rail transportation infrastructure or facilities maintenance to include six (6) years of experience directing and managing a staff involved in maintenance activities or technical support programs
- Valid Driver’s License Class C and ability to obtain Texas Class C
- No DWI conviction within last 60 months and not more than three moving violations within last 36 months
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication and organizational skills
- Strong team building skills
- Proficient PC skills (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations)
