Job Summary
Oversee the financial aspects of trading activities, including reconciliation of daily P&L with the trading book, investigation of discrepancies, mitigation of trading risks, maintenance and analysis of trading data, and preparation of regulatory reports. Communicate complex financial information to traders, risk professionals, and senior stakeholders; collaborate cross-functionally to ensure governance and control effectiveness; lead or contribute to policy development, coaching, and performance appraisal. Demonstrate Barclays values and drive digital/data-enabled improvements in the trading control function.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified accountant
- MS Office toolkit (Word, PPT, Excel, Access Database etc)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (formal and informal)
- Ability to interact with regional and UK/US as part of a global team
- Strong control awareness and ability to identify/escalate control breakdowns
- Attention to detail and analytical mindset
- CFA/master’s in finance/financial engineering would be an advantage
- Article ship/Industrial trainee in mid to large sized firms
- Audit exposure in large financial institutions/banks preferred
