Job Summary
Shaping the workforce of Builders Mutual with strategic HR leadership to drive organizational effectiveness. The AVP, HR & Organizational Effectiveness leads workforce strategy, leadership development, change readiness, and talent priorities; guides compensation philosophy to ensure market competitiveness and pay equity; drives leadership development, succession planning, and organizational health; oversees Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Performance Management; uses workforce analytics to inform decisions, supports senior leaders with advisory coaching, and partners with the executive team to align people strategies with business goals. This hybrid role is based in Raleigh, NC, and focuses on building a future-ready organization and culture.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- 10 years of strategic HR leadership within the insurance industry
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification (completed or in progress)
- Broad knowledge across core HR disciplines (organizational diagnosis/design, process redesign, change management, strategic and succession planning, team effectiveness, organizational learning, culture transformation, executive coaching, recruiting, leadership development, and compensation/benefits)
- Ability to develop clear plans, align resources, and track metrics; manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Experience advising and influencing senior leaders on talent, culture, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning
- Strong analytical skills; able to recommend and implement solutions compliant with standards, policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations
- Thrives in a highly collaborative environment; effective at influencing diverse leadership styles and building trust
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; able to influence and present effectively at all levels, including senior executives and external audiences
- Business coaching proficiency through ICF or equivalent training a plus
