AVP, Federal Government Relations

Lead federal government relations activities by developing positions for public policy, legislative, and regulatory issues impacting Sun Life's business priorities. Build and maintain relationships with federal elected and appointed officials to mitigate risk and advance organizational goals. Collaborate with business units to implement proactive Congressional and regulatory strategies, manage the contract lobbying team, and advise on federal PAC activities. Maximize engagement with trade associations and industry coalitions to influence policy positions and inform internal stakeholders. Based in the Washington D.C. metro area, this role reports to the VP, Head of Government Relations, and requires a JD or advanced degree with 8+ years of experience in government relations or public affairs.
