Job Summary
AVP, E&S Casualty Underwriter for the West Coast region. Responsibilities include underwriting lead and excess liability business, evaluating risk characteristics to determine capacity, attachment points, terms and pricing; maintaining and expanding broker relationships regionally; adapting underwriting techniques to guidelines and rating plans; developing and executing a marketing plan to retain and grow business; and leading a team-based environment with claims, legal, and actuarial staff. Requires strong established relationships with regional wholesale brokers, 8+ years of casualty underwriting experience, a Bachelor's Degree, excellent communication, and willingness to travel; CPCU and/or Surplus Lines license are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University
- 8+ years of casualty underwriting experience
- Strong Established relationships with regional wholesale brokers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel as needed to support business activities
- CPCU designation and/or Surplus Lines license preferred
