Job Summary
AVP - Data Governance role focused on translating business needs into long-term data solutions, developing a central Business Data Glossary, and extending data governance through Collibra and metadata management. Key duties include delivering conceptual and logical data models, documenting data standards and business rules, enabling self-service BI via knowledge graphs, guiding stakeholders on metadata governance, onboarding critical data sets to establish governance, and coordinating across IT and business teams. The role requires applying data governance policy, ensuring data lineage and trusted sources, and contributing to process improvements within a cross-functional, policy-driven data management environment.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in numerical discipline and concentration in computer science, information systems or related engineering specialization
- Knowledge of Conceptual/Logical Data Modelling
- Experience with Collibra for metadata management and data governance
- Understanding of data management framework including data governance, data privacy, and data quality
- Familiarity with financial-services/banking operations and regulatory frameworks (e.g., BCBS239, IFRS9)
- Strong analytical, business analysis, and stakeholder-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build relationships cross-functionally
