Job Summary
Manage high-volume drafting, review, and negotiation of program, reinsurance, vendor, and SaaS agreements while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Lead complex claims litigation, including preparing case summaries, leading settlement negotiations, and coordinating with outside counsel to minimize risk. Serve as a strategic business partner to internal units, providing legal counsel on ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and insurance laws while overseeing legal interns and administrative staff. Champion the adoption of AI tools for contract review and develop comprehensive training programs for legal and business teams. Participate in template development, process improvement initiatives, and industry association representation to stay current on Accident & Health insurance developments.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree
- admitted to a State Bar
- eligible for or willing to obtain a NJ Limited-License In-House Counsel license within one year of employment commencement
- 8+ years of overall legal experience
- minimum of three (3) years of relevant in-house or law firm experience specifically related to Accident & Health insurance products and claims management
