Job Summary
AVP, Corporate Development leading M&A execution, target identification and strategic fit assessment; manage primary capital markets research; develop and present detailed financial models and business plans for VP, CFO and Board; oversee portfolio company metrics and fund operations; build and lead a high-performing team; role spans across the CGL group with national scope and reporting to the VP Corporate Development & Capital Management; requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Commerce plus CFA or CPA designation, with 10+ years in corporate development or related advisory roles; hybrid work model with 2 days in office in Ontario locations (Guelph, Toronto, Burlington, Mississauga).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Commerce or related discipline
- CFA or CPA designation
- 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, or specialized transaction advisory
- corporate development/private equity/venture capital experience with emphasis on post-merger integration, portfolio management, and asset valuation/divestitures
- merger and acquisition, joint venture, divestiture strategy and transaction experience; financial services exposure preferred
- exceptional Excel modelling skills including macros, pivot tables, sensitivity tables
