Job Summary
Senior AVP responsible for underwriting umbrella and excess policies for highly complex construction risks in the Western Region; independently manage a book of business, establish and maintain broker relationships, travel to producer locations, participate in marketplace initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve ROE targets. Requires leadership, analytical problem-solving, and superior communication skills, with a track record of large-account construction underwriting and a BA/BS (CPCU/MBA preferred). Travel up to 25%; objectives include expanding Arch’s brand and maintaining regulatory compliance while delivering profitable growth.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS undergraduate degree
- Minimum of 5 years of Large Account Construction underwriting experience
- Professional CPCU certification and/or MBA desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% within assigned region
- Experience dealing with brokers, agents, policyholders and industry groups
- Ability to understand and interpret various sources of information to make informed decisions
