Job Summary

Avionics Test Technician at SpaceX Starbase Vibe Test Lab: Perform acceptance (ATP) and qualification (QTP) testing of flight hardware and document results clearly. Program and operate environmental test chambers and vibration shakers. Use electronic test equipment, test racks/DAQs, and mechanical hand tools to run performance tests; set up parts on test fixtures; record work in ERP. Assist design engineers with developing/testing procedures and troubleshooting failures of parts and test equipment; contribute to development of production processes for first-time production runs; support area efficiency and 5S improvements; maintain test equipment and data acquisition systems; comply with ITAR requirements. Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends; able to lift up to 25 lbs; U.S. citizenship or eligible for required authorizations. Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM in Brownsville, TX. The role requires operating in a high-volume rocket production/test environment and cooperating with engineers to drive hardware iteration and testing in service of SpaceX’s mission.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or military environment
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: U.S. citizen or national, or eligible for required authorizations
  • Proficiency with Windows OS
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and document results clearly
  • Capable of working with diverse electrical test equipment, including analog, digital and RF
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong team-work skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in a technical or engineering field (preferred)
  • Experience with thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration and/or shock testing (preferred)
  • Experience in aerospace industry or high-volume production environments (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Windows OS
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime and weekends (as needed)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • ITAR/compliance awareness
