Job Summary
Avionics Technician performs avionics maintenance on aircraft, conducts operational testing and troubleshooting of electrical and avionics systems and component parts installed in aircraft. Tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies electronic components, parts, equipment and systems; interprets and analyzes test results to diagnose malfunctions; calibrates navigation equipment and documents rework. Requires FAA mechanic certification (Airframe or Repairman), FCC General Radiotelephone License, and TSA clearance; relocation available to Anchorage, AK. Base compensation ranges from $28.00 to $36.00 per hour with step increases; typical duties include working in maintenance hangar, using test equipment, collaborating with maintenance staff, and ensuring safety and accurate records.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved/accredited avionics school or 2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe rating or a Repairman Certificate
- Requires FCC General Radiotelephone Operator’s License
- Must have a valid driver’s license with clear driving record
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background check and receive TSA for operation in secure areas
