Job Summary

Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems independently while maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities. Conduct detailed testing of avionics components, ensure compliance with FCC, FAA, and company regulations, and assist in training junior technicians. Maintain tools, equipment, and manuals in good condition. This role requires proficiency in electronic principles, wiring installation, and soldering skills, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. Full-time position in Hagerstown, MD with relocation assistance available.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
  • Proficiency in electronic principles and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to understand applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications
  • Ability to route wires per technical drawings
  • Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation
  • Experience with soldering and crimping techniques
  • Must have own tools in good working order
  • Must have ability to obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift
  • Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials
  • Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately
  • Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols
  • U.S. Citizenship status
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Avionics, Electronics, or a related field
  • Advanced soldering skills and knowledge of electronic test equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret advanced technical manuals and schematics
  • Familiarity with FCC and FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL)
  • Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military
