Job Summary
Avionics Systems Engineer focusing on communications defines the end-to-end architecture for airborne data, voice, and mission-critical links; collaborates with industry partners, platform teams, and government stakeholders to integrate technologies into air platforms; oversees system lifecycle from initial requirements to full qualification, conducts rigorous flight and system testing, and produces certification/compliance documentation to meet aviation standards; emphasizes communication architecture, SDR, data links, SATCOM, RF, cybersecurity, and avionics integration, with an emphasis on interfacing with partners and ensuring interoperability.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Have defined and developed military or civil communication architectures for air platforms
- Possess deep knowledge of communication technology, encompassing software-defined radios, data links, air-to-air and air-to-ground communications, cybersecurity, RF, and SATCOM
- Understand network management, antenna design, electronic warfare, and secure communications
- Demonstrate clear and efficient communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical findings to diverse internal and external audiences
