Job Summary

Avionics Systems Engineer for the C-17 Military Airlifter Program in Long Beach, CA. Responsible for analysis, design, development, system-level testing, verification and validation of the Flight Management System (FMS) and other avionics systems; collaborates across Avionics/Flight Management & Software Engineering with an interdisciplinary approach to upgrades and capability development. Requires a BS in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Aeronautical) or related fields and at least 1+ year of experience in electrical/electronic systems development; programming experience in Ada/C/C++/C#/Java/Python; knowledge of aviation systems, navigation and localization, guidance and flight controls, and applicable federal/military regulations; preference for experience with Agile, DOORS, ClearQuest, Confluence, Jira, VersionOne, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and traceability of system requirements. Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical customers. Relocation is offered based on candidate eligibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical) or related fields
  • 1+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, qualifying electrical/electronic systems
  • Classroom or work related programming experience in Ada, C, C++, C#, Java, and Python
