Job Summary

Install and repair electrical parts, units, and components on aircraft according to blueprints and specifications. Fabricate prototype equipment for military aircraft while reading technical manuals, orders, and modification work orders. Coordinate with project engineers to provide technical assistance and service, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness. Replace wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, and communication/navigation systems using hand tools, power tools, and soldering irons. Read FAA FARs and commercial aircraft manuals, and service batteries to maintain safe operating conditions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four years direct experience in avionics maintenance, primarily in the military aviation field or appropriate military occupation specialty training

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical or Military School Training
