Job Summary
Lead daily avionics operations by guiding technicians through troubleshooting, installations, inspections, and repairs while overseeing system integrations and return-to-service testing. Ensure strict FAA and Part 145 compliance through accurate documentation, logbook entries, and adherence to quality procedures. Coordinate workflow and scheduling to manage shop priorities, assist with customer communication regarding findings and timelines, and mentor staff on advanced electrical system issues. Promote a safe, organized workspace and contribute to long-term department growth, process development, and equipment planning. This hands-on leadership role supports TAS's expansion into full-service avionics, offering a competitive hourly rate, full medical coverage, and relocation assistance to Defiance, OH.
Required Qualifications
- Avionics experience — 3–5+ years of hands‐on avionics troubleshooting, installation, and repair
- Strong Garmin background — Experience with Garmin G1000/G600TXi/G5/GFC autopilot systems
- Electrical systems proficiency — Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and perform system integrations
- Leadership mindset — Ability to guide technicians, set standards, and support team culture
- Willingness to relocate to Defiance, OH
Desired Qualifications
- A&P Certification (not required but highly beneficial)
- Part 145 experience — Familiarity with repair station processes and documentation
- Advanced Garmin or Avidyne training
- Experience leading small teams
- Autopilot installation experience — Garmin, S‐TEC, Genesys, etc.
- Cessna Citation avionics experience
- King Air or Conquest avionics experience
- Custom panel fabrication
- Customer service experience
