Job Summary
Provide functional leadership to a multi-disciplinary engineering section of 10-15 personnel, establishing accountability, motivating performance, and supporting innovation. Coordinate staffing and de-staffing actions relative to program needs, manage employee movement between programs, and oversee performance evaluations and mentoring efforts. Drive compliance with policies covering timecards, safety, security, property management, and configuration control. Develop, produce, and provide field support for avionics equipment including flight avionics, communication, navigation, data link, computer, network, antenna, and sensor subsystems. Work full-time on-site at the Melbourne facility with up to 20% travel required. Maintain an Active, In-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Active In-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
- 9 years of related engineering experience
- Master's degree in a STEM discipline
- 7 years of related engineering experience
- PhD in a STEM discipline
- 5 years of related engineering experience
- Experience with project planning, cost, schedule & performance, including Earned-Value and performance measurement baseline concepts
- Experience leading a team or project
- Must be available for full-time, on-site work at the facility
- No remote / hybrid / telework available
- Travel up to 20% may be required
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in leading, collaborating, and developing cross functional teams of varying degrees of skill on complex technical projects including some or all aspects of engineering project life cycle
- Cost Account Management experience
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to include written and verbal communication
- Prior functional management experience including mentoring/coaching, and solving staff and resource issues
- Currently briefed to and supporting applicable program statement of work
