Job Summary
Avionics/Electrical Technician 2 at Gulfstream in Van Nuys performing testing, troubleshooting and repair of aircraft avionics/electrical systems. Responsibilities include installing and functionally testing electrical/avionics components per engineering specifications and maintenance manuals, correcting defects, performing repairs or replacements of wiring and components, applying engineering changes, setting up and operating test equipment, conducting functional and operational tests, and ensuring proper documentation for inspection. Must adhere to FOD and safety programs (5-S) and adapt to schedule changes. Preferred A&P license and NCATT/FCC experience; strong reading/writing of blueprints and schematics; ability to communicate effectively; ability to handle physical tasks and travel up to 25%.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four (4) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field OR two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years related experience
- A&P (FAA) license preferred
- FCC preferred
- NCATT preferred
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined areas and lift up to 50 pounds
