Job Summary
Avionics/Elec Tech II responsible for testing aircraft systems, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to maintain schedule and safety. Performs installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components per engineering specs and maintenance manuals, ensuring defect-free systems. Maintains documentation for inspections, conducts functional and operational tests, and complies with safety programs (FOD, tool control, 5-S). May fill in for a Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician and may participate in flight tests in support of aircraft certification and final phase testing. Requires proficiency in reading blueprints/schematics, repairs or replaces defective wiring/components, and adheres to schedule changes; expects ability to communicate effectively and to work across shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four (4) years experience in an avionics/electrical career field OR two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years related experience
- A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred
- FCC preferred
- NCATT preferred
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined areas and lift up to 50 pounds
- English language proficiency (read, write, speak, and understand)
