Job Summary
Lead the development and continuous improvement of aviation security screening and patrolling processes at International Airport of Heraklion, Crete S.A. Ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance by designing screening operations that meet NCASTP and ICAO requirements, conducting audits, and managing service providers. Oversee screening operations for passengers, baggage, cargo, and staff while monitoring personnel performance gaps to implement remedial training. Participate in ORAT activities, drills, and exercises to assess operational readiness, assess potential threats, and assist in planning necessary security measures. Manage the aviation security budget's financial aspects and design training programs in accordance with industry best practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree, Certified Security Manager certification, and 7-10 years of aviation security experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
- Certified Security Manager by HCAA
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Aviation Security operations
- At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within aviation screening or patrol operations
- Excellent knowledge of aviation security regulations, screening procedures, international standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and maintain operational integrity
- Experience in managing large security teams in a 24/7 operational environment
- Proven experience in ORAT and project management
- Digital skills, including advanced ECDL knowledge
- Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 17, ECAC Doc 30, EU, and Hellenic Civil Aviation regulations
- Proven instructional capability, with experience in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality training programs
- Excellent knowledge of Greek and English, both oral and written
