Job Summary
Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of Avflight's safety team across the FBO network, serving as the primary safety subject matter expert and point of contact for all locations. Maintain, enhance, and standardize the Safety Management System (SMS) by developing policies, conducting internal audits, and ensuring alignment with FAA guidance and industry best practices. Identify operational hazards, perform risk assessments, and oversee incident investigations to implement corrective actions while monitoring safety performance indicators and KPIs. Promote a proactive safety culture by supporting training initiatives, sharing best practices, and acting as a trusted resource for employees at all levels.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in aviation safety and/or Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Experience in a leadership role (Trainer, Lead, Supervisor, or Management)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
- Strong working knowledge of: Fuel Quality Control & Assurance (ATA 103)
- Strong working knowledge of: NFPA codes applicable to aviation and fueling operations
- Strong working knowledge of: SPCC guidelines and requirements
- Strong working knowledge of: OSHA General Industry regulations
- Strong working knowledge of: Safety and operational training requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrated strong safety record and commitment to workplace safety
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
- Valid Driver's License with a driving record that meets company standards
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
