Aviation Market Sector Leader - Building Engineering

Job Summary
Lead and support the growth of AECOM's aviation building engineering business by partnering with leadership to develop and deliver on our ambitious aviation strategy. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including airport operators and industry partners to lead bids and pursuits. Act as project director or design manager on major multidisciplinary aviation terminal projects, creating integrated design solutions for clients. Develop and mentor high-performing teams while strategically identifying opportunities to enhance AECOM's reputation in the aviation sector. This role is based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne and requires 15+ years of experience in multidisciplinary design management for major airport projects.
Required Qualifications
- Strong multidisciplinary design management experience
- 15+ years of experience with a suitable engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or civil)
- demonstrated multidisciplinary design management experience
- Demonstrated experience in bids and tenders
- Experience in a senior project leadership or Project Director capacity
- Strong commercial and business development capability
- track record of developing client relationships and winning work
- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style
- genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing teams
- This role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne
- all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Strong multidisciplinary design management experience, with a track record of delivering major airport and airport terminal projects across Australia
- Ideally, 15+ years of experience with a suitable engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or civil)
