Job Summary

Aviation Engineer at PGAL to support aviation projects nationwide, lead design teams, and manage aviation subconsultants. Based in Houston or Dallas with opportunities to pursue nationwide projects, collaborating with architectural aviation groups, and contributing to landside and airside airport design. Responsibilities include design of taxiways, taxi lanes, aprons, roadways, stormwater, and utility infrastructure; coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, federal agencies, and PGAL teams; developing goals and growth plans for airside and landside projects; supporting business development, client relationships, and industry leadership; and ensuring project delivery, contract management, and quality assurance. Required qualifications include 5-10 years of aviation civil engineering, a BS in Engineering, a TX PE license, knowledge of FAA circulars and related regulatory processes, experience with Aviplan/AutoCAD/Civil3D, and the ability to work legally in the US without sponsorship.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in aviation civil engineering, design, and project management
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in TX is required. Additional state licensures are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in the application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction, including taxiways, taxilanes, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, pavement markings, and other federal regulation processes such as preparation of FAA 7460-1 applications and 49 CFR Par 77 analyses
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a focus on meeting individual and strategic goals for the aviation engineering group
  • Aviplan, AutoCAD, and Civil3D experience and/or working knowledge of design software preferred
  • Excellent communication, management, and organizational abilities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Desired Qualifications
