Job Summary
Design runway and taxiway lighting systems, NAVAIDs, and aviation infrastructure while developing calculations, specifications, engineering reports, and construction cost estimates. Lead design projects and produce drawings for airfield lighting, control, and navigational aid systems, attending client meetings and site visits to perform construction administration. Guide junior engineering staff and assist with winning projects within an established aviation team. This role requires a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to pursue licensure within six months, five years of consulting engineering experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, AGI32, and SKM. Candidates must be proficient with FAA standards and the National Electrical Code, with a willingness to travel. The position offers a hybrid work environment and a salary range of $96,000 - $125,000 in Los Angeles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or pursue within 6 months
- Minimum 5 years of experience in consulting engineering, preferably aviation
- Experience designing building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and security
- Be proficient with software packages: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with software packages: AGI32, SKM
- Experience with FAA standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able and willing to travel
