Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders for individuals in private duty settings. Continuously assess patient conditions, document all activities and nursing actions in electronic records, and develop or update nursing care plans. Recognize changes in patient needs to implement interventions that prevent or reduce risk while educating families on disease processes and self-care techniques. Adhere to infection control measures, state regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act to ensure professional accountability. Maintain competency through continued education and skill evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- Current TB skin test (within last 12 months)
- Reliable transportation
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina specific)
- One (1) year of experience working under current nursing license (California specific)
- One (1) year of experience working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana specific)
- Continuing Education as required by state
- Two (2) years Registered Nurse experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology experience (Medical Oncology RN)
- Two (2) years experience with vital assessment, plan of care development, and telephone triage (Ambulatory RN)
- Two (2) years Registered Nurse experience (Medical Surgical RN)
- Two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience, preferably with oncology experience (Peri-Operative Care RN)
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Ability to comply with all health-related requirements including required vaccinations and testing
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
- Attention to detail
- Time Management
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Good organization and communication skills
- Ability to sit and climb stairs
- Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
