Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care in compliance with physician orders while documenting assessments, actions, and coordination of care in electronic patient records. Continuously observe patient conditions, report changes to supervisors or physicians, and develop, implement, and update individual nursing care plans. Recognize evolving patient needs requiring intervention to prevent or reduce risk, and educate patients and families on disease processes and self-care techniques. Adhere to infection control measures, state regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act while maintaining professional accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- Current TB skin test (within last 12 months)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Ability to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations
- Ability to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases (acceptance of environment)
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina specific)
- One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license (California specific)
- One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana specific)
- Continuing Education as required by state
- 2 years Registered Nurse experience with cardiac monitoring and oncology experience (Medical Oncology RN specific)
- 2 years experience with vital assessment, plan of care development, and telephone triage (Ambulatory RN specific)
- 2 years Registered Nurse experience (Medical Surgical RN specific)
- 2 years of Registered Nurse, preferably with oncology experience (Peri-Operative Care RN specific)
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting (Preferred but treated as required per instruction to keep all items unless explicitly soft-cued in sentence)
- Home health experience (Preferred but treated as required per instruction to keep all items unless explicitly soft-cued in sentence)
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
