Job Summary
Licensed Practical/LVN (LPN/LVN) provides and documents skilled nursing care under RN supervision per care plans and physician orders. Responsibilities include delivering coordinated patient care, observing and reporting changes in patient condition, documenting nursing actions and outcomes, updating the nursing care plan, taking appropriate nursing actions, ensuring infection control, educating patients and families on disease processes and self-care, and maintaining compliance with policies, state/federal regulations, and Nurse Practice Act. Requires active LPN/LVN license in the practicing state, CPR certification, and ability to travel. Flexible scheduling available (days, nights, weekends), with options for full-time, part-time, or PRN depending on availability. Travel may be required to serve patients in assigned Texas locations (San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, South Austin). Additional state-specific requirements and continuing education as mandated by state law.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (hands-on component)
- TB skin test (within last 12 months)
- Six months hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- CDC/OSHA infection control knowledge
- Ability to travel
- Continuing Education as required by state
