Job Summary
Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders while continuously assessing patient conditions and reporting changes to the supervisor. Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, and care coordination in a timely manner, participating in and updating the nursing care plan to achieve expected outcomes. Implement appropriate nursing interventions based on assessments to prevent or reduce risk, utilizing infection control measures that protect staff and patients according to OSHA standards. Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies while maintaining personal accountability for compliance with Aveanna policies, state regulations, and the Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state in which the clinician will practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- South Carolina – One (1) year of pediatrics experience
- California – One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license
- Louisiana – One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse
- Continuing Education as required by state
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
