Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care under RN supervision for preteen patients, delivering and coordinating quality patient care in compliance with physician orders. Continuously assess patient conditions, document all activities and nursing actions, and update care plans to achieve expected outcomes. Recognize changes in patient needs, implement interventions to prevent or reduce risk, and educate families on disease processes and self-care techniques. Maintain infection control measures per OSHA standards and comply with state regulations and the Nurse Practice Act. Requires an active LPN/LVN license, current CPR certification, and ability to lift 50 pounds and reposition patients. Full-time or part-time day shifts available in New Braunfels, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state in which the clinician will practice
- Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
- TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
- Must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing
- Must comply with state specific requirements (South Carolina: One (1) year of pediatrics experience; California: One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license; Louisiana: One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse)
- Must be able to sit and climb stairs
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience
