Job Summary

Pharmacy Technician responsible for entering patient information to ensure proper dosing, dispensing medications accurately and safely, maintaining medication stock, handling insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations, training new staff, and ensuring efficient pharmacy operations. Responsibilities include patient counseling, documenting refusals, communicating with physicians and insurers, conducting weekly controlled substance counts, completing checklists, supporting the 340b program, managing cash procedures, reconciling prescription fills with billing records, and delivering excellent customer service in a team-focused, confidential environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate
  • Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities
  • Maintain BLS/CPR certification
  • Maintain required certifications
  • Two (2) years healthcare experience
  • 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred
  • Effective communication with staff, community and general public
  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Project management understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and cash handling
