AV Support Technician

Job Summary
Respond to and manage classroom and event technology emergencies, initiating follow-up as needed. Assist users with classroom and event space technology by appointment and collaborate on AV maintenance, upgrades, installations, and inventory control projects. Hang and remove large flat panel displays and projectors, while troubleshooting and installing AV switchers, control system hardware, PCs, and peripherals. Utilize Microsoft Teams and the TDX ticket system to manage AV requests and break/fix incidents. Gain on-the-job experience and mentoring from full-time staff and student peers to hone troubleshooting skills.
Required Qualifications
- Use and develop strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous customer service experience helpful
- Collaborative problem-solving within a mutually supportive team framework
- Using an array of electronic systems to conduct, track and document work, as well as collaborate with tech colleagues
- Using situational awareness and judgement
- Ability to work independently
- Practicing troubleshooting fundamentals
- Learning AV systems and components
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with AV equipment/support and/or networked equipment a plus
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs to chest height (some flat panel displays weigh 100+ lbs, but would lifted by 2-3 staff working together, so never exceeds 50 lbs per person lifting) – is a plus
