AV Support Specialist

Job Summary

Consult with clients and stakeholders to assess event requirements and determine appropriate audiovisual systems for small- to large-scale meetings, hybrid events, and virtual experiences. Set up, test, operate, and break down audiovisual equipment including cameras, mixers, and video switchers while documenting technical specifications and maintaining accurate records. Diagnose and troubleshoot audiovisual software, firmware, hardware, and point-of-sale systems, replacing defective components to minimize service disruptions. Monitor event technology, respond promptly to client requests and equipment failures, and record or edit event video content as assigned. Escalate complex technical issues to advanced support teams or external vendors as appropriate. Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in audiovisual technology, information technology, computer science, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience supporting audiovisual systems, live events, videoconferencing, or related technical operations
  • Experience with Active Directory and point-of-sale systems
  • Experience supporting computers, networking equipment, peripherals, wireless microphones, push-to-talk systems, multichannel audio mixers, broadcast cameras, and video switchers
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and operating systems
  • Demonstrated ability to configure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain audiovisual and related technical equipment
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and independently support new technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical information to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, with the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with clients, colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize responsibilities based on operational urgency and event requirements
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and consistently follow through on responsibilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to manage confidential client and Company information with discretion
  • Ability to remain composed, responsive, and solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime, based on operational needs
  • Location: On-site (Well& by Durst - 151, New York City)

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in audiovisual technology, information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with Active Directory and point-of-sale systems, preferably Oracle MICROS, is preferred
  • Crestron certification is preferred
  • Biamp/Tesira certification is preferred
