Job Summary
AV & Campus Infrastructure Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems, structured cabling, security camera infrastructure, digital signage, and IP video distribution across a large multi-facility campus. Duties include installing and configuring AV equipment in classrooms and venues, performing preventive maintenance, supporting events, terminating copper and fiber cabling per standards, managing IDF/MDF infrastructure, installing IP cameras and configuring Milestone VMS, maintaining digital signage and IP video distribution, documenting work, and collaborating with Facilities, Operations, and Athletics. Requires associate degree or equivalent, 2+ years in AV or related infrastructure, proficiency in copper/fiber cabling, knowledge of AV components, IP camera systems, ability to read wiring diagrams, attention to detail, teamwork, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; certifications such as BICSI INSTC/INSTF and AVIXA CTS are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in AV installation, structured cabling, or related physical infrastructure discipline
- Proficiency in copper and fiber cabling termination, testing, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of AV system components and installation practices across various venue types
- Familiarity with IP camera systems and basic VMS operation
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and floor plans
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, pull cable in confined spaces
- Experience in large campus, higher education, sports, entertainment, or multi-facility environment
- BICSI Installer (INSTC or INSTF), AVIXA CTS, or equivalent certification
- Experience with Axis camera platforms and Milestone VMS
- Familiarity with digital signage platforms and IP video distribution systems
- Basic understanding of IP networking concepts as they relate to AV and camera connectivity
- Experience using infrastructure documentation tools (Visio, AutoCAD)
