Job Summary
Assist with start-up, shutdown, and routine operations of biomass plant systems, including fuel handling, ash handling, and emissions control equipment. Operate and monitor key auxiliary systems while conducting routine inspections, diagnostics, and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient plant performance. Execute control room orders for equipment isolation, lockout/tagout, and safe removal from operation. Perform water chemistry analysis, operate emissions monitoring equipment, and maintain accurate operating logs and shift reports. Identify abnormal conditions, report to the Control Room Operator, and support mechanical and electrical maintenance activities using the CMMS. Follow rotating 12-hour shift schedules with occasional extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be prepared to work in conditions involving dust, wood particles, fumes, high noise levels, and extreme temperatures
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions is required
- Must adhere to all safety warnings and posted signs while on company property
- Must follow all NAES safety rules and procedures
- Must participate in the Fitness for Duty Program
- Must pass a post-offer physical examination
