Job Summary
Operate autonomous test vehicles in manual and autonomous modes up to 8 hours daily, collecting real-world data and providing detailed feedback to engineers while troubleshooting operational issues in real time. Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after missions, perform basic maintenance tasks such as washing and tire inflation, and monitor onboard safety systems to maintain situational awareness. Collaborate with the Mission Operations team to resolve issues quickly and hit mileage collection targets, occasionally interacting with the public to educate them on autonomous technologies. Serve as a company ambassador by conducting high-profile ridealongs for senior leadership and major stakeholders, balancing safe operations with professional communication. Work an overnight shift from 10:00pm to 6:30am PT, Monday through Sunday, with a base hourly rate of $28.25 and weekend differentials.
Required Qualifications
- Overnight: 10:00pm-6:30am PT (Wed - Sun)
- current valid California driver's license
- US license for 3+ years
- clean driving record
- pass a criminal background check
- pass a drug test
- reliably work 5 days a week
- strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- comfortable communicating through modern online collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Google Meet, or similar)
- able to operate standard field equipment, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones
- strong problem-solving skills
- strong collaboration and time management skills
- self-driven and able to stay focused and goal oriented
- proven record of reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance
