Autonomous Operations Director (Buildings Industry)

Job Summary
Autonomous Operations Director leading global deployment and operational scaling of autonomous building systems. You’ll oversee application engineering and deployment teams, coordinate site surveys, digital-twin development, and contractor coordination, and manage 24/7 incident/change management across EU-focused deployments. Responsibilities include establishing rollout plans and playbooks, ensuring schedules, quality, and performance targets, and translating field feedback into continuous improvements. You’ll work closely with AI engineers, product teams, field technicians, and customers to deploy autonomous HVAC/building systems, validate performance, and drive operational excellence. Strong leadership, field-management skills, and ability to travel to the EU quarterly are essential. The role is based in Salt Lake City with global scope and requires coordinating across multiple sites, contractors, and clients while maintaining a customer-focused, results-driven approach.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the buildings industry or leading large-scale operational autonomous systems rollouts
- Hands-on experience in robotics systems, mechanical engineering, building automation, retro-commissioning, HVAC systems, or building science
- Leadership experience managing technical field teams or deployment organizations
- Field deployment or commissioning experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and control schematics
- Comfort working directly with customers, contractors, and technical stakeholders
- Strong operational leadership and coordination skills
- Comfort operating in fast-moving, early-stage environments
- An ability to travel to the EU at least on a quarterly basis
