Job Summary
Perform repair, maintenance, and overhaul work on automobiles, trucks, tractors, and other vehicles, including diesel and gasoline engines and mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and computer-assisted systems. Execute repairs on park automobiles and equipment 60% of the time, conduct safety checks to ensure vehicles are in good working order 30%, and prepare reports on fleet vehicles and parts requisitions 5%. Install vehicle add-ons and accessories when necessary. Follow prescribed safety practices while wearing steel toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection. Work involves standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds. This position supports the Cumberland Island National Seashore fleet under the Experienced Services Program with a maximum of 520 total hours.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Automotive Maintenance or Repair
- HS/GED Degree with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Automotive Maintenance or Repair
- Experience required with Windows
- Experience required with MS Word
- Experience required with MS Excel
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to move items up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Minimum Age:55
