Job Summary
Automotive Used Cars Technician needed to inspect used vehicles, identify mechanical/electrical/safety issues, and perform diagnostics across a wide range of makes/models. Responsibilities include conducting thorough inspections, using diagnostic tools to identify issues, performing diagnostics on engine, transmission, brakes, and other systems, routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, and quality-control checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards. The role also involves mentoring junior technicians and contributing to a fast-paced, high-quality used-car department. Preferred qualifications include technical or vocational automotive training and ASE certifications, with emphasis on deep knowledge of automotive systems and safety adherence. Must pass pre-employment background screenings and be dependable and versatile in a dynamic shop environment.
Required Qualifications
- Technical or vocational training in automotive technology is preferred
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on used vehicle maintenance and repairs
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications are highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Flexibility to handle a variety of vehicle models
- Willingness to share knowledge and mentor junior technicians
- Adherence to safety regulations and guidelines
- Must pass pre-employment background screenings
