Job Summary
Diagnose and repair major components on trucks and diesel engines, including engine control systems, brakes, suspension, and HVAC. Perform multi-point inspections, document work on repair orders, and conduct road tests to confirm successful repairs. Utilize handheld diagnostic tools to identify malfunctions and communicate with service advisors regarding additional needs or delays. Maintain manufacturer certifications, participate in ongoing training programs, and mentor novice technicians while ensuring customer vehicles are returned clean and safe.
Required Qualifications
- ASE certifications
- Manufacturer certifications
- Previous automotive technician experience
- Must have basic tools
- Must have great technical and mechanical skills
- Must be a team player and have the ability to work repetitively on complex tasks
- Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test)
Desired Qualifications
- Must be a Master or Level 'A' Service Technician
- Must specialize on trucks & diesel engines
- Must be extremely familiar and seasoned in a particular manufacturer line
- Must be familiar and seasoned in engine mechanical
- Must be familiar and seasoned in engine control systems
- Must be familiar and seasoned in electric
- Must be familiar and seasoned in hydraulic brake systems
- Must be familiar and seasoned in suspension
- Must be familiar and seasoned in heating/air conditioning
- Must be familiar and seasoned in instruments/gauges
- Must be familiar and seasoned in drivability
- Must be familiar and seasoned in intermittent issues and noises
- Must have received all manufacturer certifications including but not limited to engine mechanical, engine control systems, electric, hydraulic brake systems, suspension, heating/air conditioning, instruments/gauges, drivability, intermittent issues and noises
